No educational adventure is ever a waste. This will even help me take care of my own little ones whenever I have children. I mean I was a girl guide many years ago and got my first aid badge, but i need something more, and getting educated with red cross is the way for me to go. I even got a suggestion from someone, and that is volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross. So if it takes me a while to save up the money I need to pay for a first aid course, I can at least do volunteer work.
Journalism wasn't a waste of time for me, it actually helped me become a better writer and to get to know people and their stories. Everyone has a story to tell, it's just sharing it can be the hard part for most people. Many of my friends have embarked on new adventures ever since they graduated from journalism. Some have moved out from their parent's houses to get a fresh start in life, some have even continued their education at different schools. I have one friend in a plumbing program right now, and I have another friend who is now in programing.
You never know where life will take you, it can branch off in many different directions, and most of the time you have to explore and see what is best suited for your life.
One of my journalism professors said this to my class last year:
"If you feel like you are in the wrong program, just stick it out anyway since you never know what you can learn, that you can apply to future endeavors. "
Take care!
